Lyrics Transcribed by Lea Cook
Stabbing at me just like a dart,
It's a feeling heavenly..
I see memories out of the past,
Memories that always will last.
Of a place across the sea…
Ohhhh..
At night when your shadows are falling,
I hear your rolling surf calling,
Calling and calling to me..
Ohhhh..
Waikiki
It’s for you that my heart is yearning,
My thoughts are always returning,
Out
there to you, across the sea.
Hui:
Your tropic nights,
And your wonderful charms.
Are ever in my memory,
And I recall, as I held you in my arms,
An angel sweet and heavenly.
Waikiki
It’s for you that my heart is yearning,
My thoughts are always returning,
Out
there across the sea.
Hui:
Your tropical nights,
And your wonderful charms.
Are ever in my memory,
And I recall, as I held you in my arms
An angel sweet and heavenly.
Waikiki
It’s for you that my heart is yearning,
My thoughts are always returning,
Calling and calling to me
The Magic of Waikiki.

"I Love Hawaii" The Journey
Listening to Danny sing this song brings one back to the Islands, and his stunning performance on stage. Tapping other facets of his repertoire. A must see.
"Although it encompasses only one
square mile of sea and sand, the sunny shores of Hawai'i's Waikiki Beach have
defined paradise for generations of visitors. From the royal sport of surfing to
the invention of the steel guitar, and the modern swimsuit, this small stretch
of sand has had a far-reaching influence on American notions of paradise. In
ancient times, the beach was used as a place of healing. Later on, famous people
from Mark Twain to Hollywood movie stars visited this legendary spot to savor
Hawaiian culture and the good life with a zeal that continues to be found in
visitors today.

Copyright 1947, 61, 65, 75 Atlantic Music Corp - The composer, on tour with the Paradise Islands Revue in Lansing, Michigan was homesick one cold and foggy November night, in 1938. Walking back to his hotel, he thought about Waikiki with its rolling surf, warm sunshine and palm trees.
